Board game book
I'm currently working on a book on board games. I happen to know someone, who was just recently made the publishing manager of a Finnish publisher looking to expand their catalogue of non-fiction books, and he asked if I was interested in writing a book on new board games. Well, you don't have to ask me twice for something like that...
So, right now I'm writing a book on new board games (it's called Uudet lautapelit or The New Board Games). It's made of 150 or so description of games (both those published in Finnish and other good games easily available in Finland) and a bunch of other stuff, mostly describing what these games of ours are made of, who is it that creates them and how do you actually become a gamer.
If I'm lucky, the book will create more interest towards new and improved board games and cause a few board game clubs to be found. We'll see, the book should be out by May.

Cool. English translation possible?
Excellent news, Mikko - congratulations! Keep up the good work converting people :-)

English translation is very unlikely. The game list will be chosen based on availability in Finnish and in Finland (so WildWords is out, at least until you get in stores in Finland, Peter - it being a word game, you'd need a Finnish translation, so good luck). Swedish translation might happen.
But yeah, I'll keep you posted.
Excellent stuff! Really looking forward to it, you're definetly the right guy for that job :)
Cool, sounds like a good present for my Finnish friend. Assuming I can find a way to get it in the UK.
There'll be a copy available on BookMooch, but outside that, I don't know... Perhaps Finnish online stores like BookPlus or Akateeminen kirjakauppa will serve people outside Finland as well.
That's awesome. I hope you make reference to your website and your contributions to the hobby.
